Asteroids attack the unlikely Earth

The Earth had a tight brush with room objects. In December, NASA (US World Space Agency) and the European Space Agency announced that they had carefully pursued asteroids that could hit our planet in  2032. Currently, NASA is announcing Space Rock's risks in its four-year, four-year 2024 name.

An asteroid is an irregularly shaped object that circumferences the Sun, small as pebbles or as large as a few miles. They are made up of old materials, such as skirts and sometimes metals and sounds, from the time when our solar system was born billions of years ago. The small asteroid fragment that hits the Earth is called a meteorite (see box on the right). Scientists keep an eye on the large or small atomic temples, so if they believe they are coming to Earth, they can prepare in advance.

On December 27th, the terrestrial impact atlas telescope was first discovered over 2024. It was 130-300 feet wide. Astronomers (scientists studying stars, planets and objects in space) began pursuing asteroids, discovering that they have an over 1% chance of being put into the ground.

They thought it could be attacked by big cities like Mumbai in India and Lagos in Nigeria. However, scientists also knew that if more data was collected, if it was normal, their predictions would change. Sure enough, the threat in 2024  rose by four times, and fell sharply  over the next few weeks. On February 18th, the percentage reached 3.1%. This makes it most likely that asteroids are Earth's size. By February 24th, it was 0.004%.

Astronomers will continue to monitor asteroids from observatory around the world, including the Lowell Discovery Telescope in Arizona and the Nordic Optical Telescope in the Canary Islands.  James Webb Space Telescope will also be expanding. Experts believe there is a 1.7% chance that 4/4/2024 will crash into the moon and create a crater, but that could change too.

"This should not be the cause of the alarm," Colin Snodgrass, an astronomer at the University of Edinburgh in the UK, told the Guardian. "It's a sign that our technology will improve and it's better to discover asteroids." From our perspective, the asteroid will disappear  by the end of April, and  Earth will return in 2028 and 2032.

  •  What is Meteorite?

Once you see the shooting star, see the space burning in the Earth's atmosphere. These parts that have been broken  from asteroids and comets in space are called meteors. If many meteors burn  at the same time, this is a meteor shower.

Meteors that survived the journey of the atmosphere and the nations on Earth are called meteorite. They are between the size of pebbles and  human fist. NASA estimates that over 50,000 meteorite have been discovered on Earth, of which about 99.8% come from asteroids. Met stones are difficult to distinguish from the rocks of the Earth, but  often have a shiny appearance produced by the extreme heat of our atmosphere. Approximately 60 met stones come from Mars, and 80  from the moon.
